President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Nairobians not to be divided by elfish politicians who are after satisfying their individual interests. The Head of State, who was speaking when he opened the Soweto Level 2 hospital and Community Water Supply projects in Kayole also lauded the Handshake between him and Raila Odinga saying it had brought peace to Nairobians.
”Kutoka wakati tufanye handshake si kumekua na amani? Tukisema ya kwamba Nairobi hii, na nyingi wa watu inahitaji constituencies nyingi zaidi ndio CDF na pesa mashinani iongezeke, tumefanya makosa jameni?” the Head of State posed.
President Uhuru, who was also accompanied by Nairobi Metropolitan Boss (NMS) Major Mohammed Badi said the BBI was of no personal benefits to him because he was heading into retirement in 2022, and that the agitation to ammend the 2010 constitution was borne out of the need to improve service delivery to Kenyans.
”Mimi Uhuru, nitafaidika kwa njia gani na hata sitakua Rais? Si ni yenu hii? Si mali ni yenu, kwanini mwingine asemen hamna haki ya kuipata? Kuna haki hapo jameni? Chukua ile iko, ahadi unaambiwa utakula baadae. Kwanini ukatae eti kwasababu umeahidiwa?””
