Ruto Violently Kicks Raila Odinga, Whole Country in the Face

8 mins read

Suppose Raila Odinga goes ahead and joins President William Ruto’s government after what Ruto just did with his new cabinet. In that case, Raila may have to buy a home in Addis Ababa and live there or be confined to Sugoi with Ruto.

William Ruto just told all Kenyans that they can go to hell and he will do whatever he wants with the country.

In Raila Odinga’s case, it is an outright insult to him. Raila specifically asked William Ruto to address the victims of state violence with compensation and justice for them. What does Ruto do about that? He appoints the same person who was responsible for the violence against Gen Z protestors, Kithure Kindiki, which tells Raila and the whole country that Ruto is very happy with the killings and violence on Kenyans and wants Kindiki to resume killing demonstrators.

Incidentally, Raila had also specifically asked that Kithure Kindiki be taken to court and charged with violence against Kenyans and Ruto has answered that with certainty and is telling Raila to shut up and join the KK regime as a follower not as a leader of any kind.

In fact, what many Kenyans wanted was to see was to have all the fired CSs audited for the public money they stole while in office and for corruption contracts they signed milking tax money for their business allies.

Raila Odinga has two alternatives.

One is to talk to Kenyans directly and condemn what William Ruto just did without even bothering to address the issue of the victims of state violence and tell Ruto that Raila will not in any way shape or form join the KK government in killing Kenyans under those conditions and that ODM will instead join hands with Gen Z protestors and go to the streets starting next week.

If that means the AU job is gone for Raila so be it. If we lose the country, we will not even be members of the AU because our country will be in tatters needing the UN to help us get back to normal. The demos resuming next week are going to be phenomenal.

I am sure William Ruto did not even bother to talk with Raila about his new cabinet and that says it all. Don’t go there please and lend legitimacy to this collapsing regime which is telling Kenyans they have a dictator who is ready to kill them with impunity and that is the end of the story.

The other alternative for Raila to is bury his dignity and responsibilities to Kenyans by nominating ODM party members to go join the William Ruto killing and corruption squad. If that happens Raila should know that William Ruto needs corrupt and inhumane chaps for his cabinet so he can look for those and Gen Z protestors are going to look for him personally to deal with him as they deal with Ruto.

For those of us who have known Raila Odinga for many years, and worked with him in various political arenas, I don’t see how Raila the politician Kenyans know will join William Ruto under these circumstances.

William Ruto has decided on the so-called unity government very easy for Raila Odinga. Ruto is not forming a government of national unity but is strengthening the Ruto dictatorship and now needs a government of national dictatorship. Can Raila Odinga really be a party to that?

I was a big supporter of a government of national unity based on addressing what has gone wrong in the country in the last two years of the Ruto government but after President Ruto has kicked all Kenyans in the face, to hell with that idea.

ODM and other Azimio parties now need to go to the streets with Gen Z protestors instead of just making press statements and yelling from their houses. Go for the battle and face the bullets with Gen Z protestors. That is where Kenyans want to see Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, and others, in the streets now for the country and not in the cabinet for William Ruto.

It is time for action for everybody in any political leadership in Kenya today. Talk is cheap and easy.

Time for the entire Azimio leadership including Raila Odinga to be part of the demonstrations and that will really empower Gen Z protestors and free our country from this Ruto dictatorship and thuggery against Kenyans. Let Gen Z continue the leadership of the protests but it is time be part of the action because Ruto is sinking the country done a big hole.

Petty Azimio inter party fights for publicity is just the kind of nonsense that Kenyans do not need right now in the middle of a whole onslaught by William Ruto on Kenyans. Join the fight and face the bullets with the young Kenyans being killed by William Ruto then Kenyans will take you seriously. That includes Raila Amolo Odinga. Our country is at a critical turning point and it has to be for what is good for our country.

Raila Odinga has been in this terrible circumstances with Daniel Moi in 1997 with Mwai Kibaki in 2002 and now with William Ruto in 2024 and in each case Raila’s commitment to what is good for Kenyans was achieved.

It will be the same this time around because the country is bigger than anything else for Raila Odinga. The Gen Z revolution is going to make our country better for everybody and Raila knows that. He made a genuine move for a government of national unity and William Ruto has screwed that up. That is the end of that effort.
