Nyeri Town MP Dancun Mathenge Maina is accused by his constituents of moving around the constituency repainting high masts that were installed by former MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, claiming to have installed them for 1 million per mast.

The residents say MP Maina’s office is not indicating financial years in the masts as required by CDF law, something that continues to raise suspicion on how Nyeri Town CDF funds are being utilized.

Parents reveal their MP claims to have built a dining hall for Ngangarithi, now Duncan Ndegwa Secondary School, and even put a plate to launch the dining hall, already built by his predecessor. The school administration was shocked to find out the MP’s office claimed they had spent 3 million to build an existing dining hall.

Apart from Duncan Ndegwa Secondary School, recent photos of Tetu Boys and Rware High also shocked parents. Despite both buildings being built by the previous MP, the current Dancun Maina’s office claims to have spent Ksh1.4M on Tetu Boys and 4.6M on Rware High School buildings.

On the other hand, football teams across the constituency were equally shocked to learn their MP claims to have given out Ksh1.3M yet they only spent Ksh 400,000 out of the Ksh 2.8M they claim they spent. They are now questioning where the Ksh 1.5M went, and asking who will save Nyeri Town from the current impasse.
