Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza says she is now ready to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Speaking over the weekend during Ushirika Day at Kaaga Primary School, North Imenti constituency in Meru County, the governor said she had considered Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s appeal to her to join UDA.
”The Deputy President asked my people if I should join UDA and they agreed. That is why I have donned a yellow dress to show that I am considering the request. Let the President know that my people have allow me to join UDA,” Governor Mwangaza said, adding that she was keen on working closely with the Head of State to ensure national development gets to her county.
”Once I am in the ruling party, they will answer when I call,” she added.
On Friday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua asked the Meru governor to join UDA since they had supported her when she fellout with MCAs.
Mwangaza was elected on an independent ticket in August 2022.
