Nakuru County Assembly members from the former ruling party Jubilee have pledged loyalty to President William Ruto who hosted them at State House.

The meeting signals the renewal of wrangles in the party that was split into two following disagreements soon after the August 2022 elections.

On Thursday, Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege led 120 of them to a meeting with President William Ruto who appears keen to court them into his fold.

The meeting was also attended by the party’s 28 members of the National Executive Council.

Jubilee party has been faced with leadership wrangles for months now as two groups claim to be bona fide officials of the party.

President Ruto was flanked by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala.
