Five Mt Kenya United Democratic Alliance (UDA) are now being accused of being former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s moles in the ruling party and are now under close surveillance by the party’s leadership after accusations of betraying President William Ruto.

The five lawmakers include Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri, Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri), Betty Maina (Muranga Women Rep), Jane Kihara (Naivasha), and Eric Wambui (Mathira).

According to sources within the ruling party, the above MPs are not fully aligned with President William Ruto’s agenda in parliament, opposing the Finance Bill 2023, and are currently championing the One Man, One Shilling revenue allocation formula.

The lawmakers have also demanded respect for Uhuru Kenyatta, the former president who they still consider the region’s political kingpin.

Speaking yesterday in Nairobi while unveiling affordable Housing project, President Ruto disclosed some UDA leaders have turned against him and now want to betray him after campaigning together last year.

”I did my campaign with many leaders and these leaders heard me loud and clear when I said there is a plan for housing and it was public. So don’t betray me now when we are in the middle. Sasa msinigeuke hapa katikati,” President Ruto said.
