President William Ruto has today Thursday, April 25, 2024 officially opened the highly anticipated Bunge Towers, a towering 28-storey structure designed to serve as the hub for 349 lawmakers and 67 senators in the 13th Parliament.
During the inauguration, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula proudly compared the architectural marvel to the prestigious House of Commons in the United Kingdom. The building’s design, incorporating elements of the Kenyan flag, symbolizes unity, strength, and resilience of the country’s diverse communities.
Bunge Towers boasts 331 dedicated offices for legislators, 26 cutting-edge committee rooms, a Parliament Library housing a vast collection of essential documents, and advanced audio-visual systems. The tower also features amenities such as restaurants, a gym, rainwater harvesting system, solar water heating panels, and wheelchair ramps for accessibility.
This achievement emphasizes the government’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and embracing sustainable practices.
