There is discomfort in Musalia Mudavadi led Amani National Congress Party. Senior party members led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala claim President Uhuru is taking their party leader (Mudavadi) for a ride and is not keen on endorsing him for the top seat in 2022. Also, reports of growing suspicions within the One Kenya Alliance are making the dreams of Musalia Mudavadi becoming the next president a mirage.

According to multiple sources, Mudavadi’s association with certain politicians and his lack of firm stance on the BBI has the Head of State not fully trust him.   Also, there are fears within the ANC leader’s camp that his greatest undoing is his dalliance with certain leaders and most recently his presence at DP William Ruto’s daughter wedding.

During this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations in Kisumu, President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto ignored the ANC leader, with some reports indicating his planned meeting with both Raila and Uhuru was canceled last minute.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has warned the ANC Party it is being taken for a ride by some powerful individuals inside State House and that the president is not keen on having Musalia Mudavai as his preferred successor. The senator took issue with Uhuru’s administration and tells Mudavadi to forge an alternative path ahead of 2022 instead of relying on President Uhuru’s endorsement.
