President Uhuru Kenyatta has lashed out at Mt Kenya churches for being used by corrupt leaders to launder corruption money.
Speaking on Wednesday in Sagana at a meeting with Mt Kenya leaders and supporters, the Head of State waded into the church Harambee debate saying everyone contributes in their churches according to their abilities, some even with looted money.
”We all give offerings in church depending on our financial capabilities. The money you are receiving is the same money that was to build dams in Elgeyo Marakwet so that God’s children can get water,” President Uhuru said, adding church leaders in Mt Kenya have been taking stolen money and defending the lies told by the same thieves stealing from Kenyans.
During the meeting, Uhuru Kenyatta tore into his deputy, William Ruto whom he described as a liar going around the country speaking from both sides of his mouth while also endorsing Raila Odinga for the top seat.
”Let’s hold the old man’s hand and if the other young man also reforms, I have not stopped anyone from supporting him. An old man on a stool sees further than a boy on a tree. Let me stick with the old man who I can talk with,” the Head of State said.
