Uhuru to meet Luo Nyanza MPs at State House this Friday

A meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Luo Nyanza MPs is slated for Friday this week, at State House in Nairobi. According to reports, the meeting will present an opportunity to leaders from the region to present their demands to the Head of State, in line with the Lakeside region’s economic needs.

According to sources, Luo MPs already have a list of demands for Uhuru and will also have an opportunity to ask him about his 2022 succession plan and the role Luo Nyanza region will play in his succession.

On June 1st, President Uhuru Kenyatta will kick off his tour of the Luo Nyanza region after presiding over this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu. This will be the first time such a ceremony was being held in the Luo Nyanza region.

Preparations are currently in top gear with several contractors rushing to complete a number of development projects initiated by the national government and are set to be officially opened by President Uhuru. On Monday, ODM leader Rails Odinga toured the city to inspect the progress of a number of facilities expected to host the June 1st guests.
