President Uhuru rejects move to expel Ruto from Jubilee Party

President Uhuru Kenyatta has blocked a move by the Jubilee Party’s NMC to eject Deputy President William Ruto from his position as the party’s Deputy Leader. The recommendations awaited ratification by the National Executive Committee this week.

”The President flatly rejected the proposal as was recommended by the NMC. That is why the NMC is meeting to reconsider its recommendation,” said a senior Jubilee official who sought anonymity.

According to sources from Jubilee Party HQs, Uhuru is not keen on having Ruto expelled from the party and will let him hold the position. It is said the NMC is currently meeting to communicate President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision.
