Those telling me not to kill their children are only telling me not to do what they, themselves would do if they were in my position. That is what they just think about. That’s what they would do if they were in power. They are led by the devil. I am led by my God,” Uhuru said.

And the president opening a dam in Gatundu had more to say about what Kenyans have to address for their future.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to be careful not to elect a leader who does not have the country’s best interest at heart.

Uhuru said Kenyans should not bungle their future at the last minute by voting in a thug.

Speaking when he was launching a dam in Gatundu North, Kiambu County, he asked the region not to listen to empty rhetoric.

“Restrain yourselves from electing a thief, I don’t want to hear you crying and regretting. There are people who have funny stories but they are as sweet as honey and so convincing, but they are poison,” he said.

Uhuru asked the young men who are the leaders of tomorrow, to know what they want and what is of help to them, and what will change the country.

“Young men, we will leave this country to you. Ask yourselves if you have seen a country which has been transformed by wheelbarrows. Do you want wheelbarrows or ways you can take your children to school? If you want to push wheelbarrows it’s okay,” he said.

Uhuru further said that the work he has done during the ten years of his tenure is evident.

He said those who are saying he has not worked should check the projects he started and developed.

“There are people who only know insults, instead of us coming together and working and bringing peace. They have been saying there is no work done. Has this dam built itself? Did the roads build themselves? Even where people thought electricity won’t reach, it reached, did it go there by itself?” he asked.

He then drummed up support for Azimio presidential running mate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.

Now Now, everybody will say, Adongo why did you quote the whole news item. I had to. President Uhuru Kenyatta had never spoken to Kenya so directly about his deputy and the future of our country. Those people know each other best. So the nation listens when they tell us real things that can affect our country. And this is as candid as it gets.

Uhuru asked Kenyans not to elect a thief and a thug and addressed the issue of who is likely to kill Kenyan kids. That was in response to the president being accused by his deputy of threatening to kill his kids.

It is sad that this is even a topic of discussion for the elections. Nobody is going to kill kids in Kenya, let’s start from there. Kenyans wouldn’t allow them to do it. This is not difficult to understand. We know us.

Then President Uhuru bluntly referred to William Ruto as a thief whom Kenyans should not vote for. Those are harsh words and they are true and that is why this Ruto – Uhuru dialogue is not bad after all.

The nation will have to digest what we got already.
