Othaya MP Gichuki Mugambi dumps Ruto

1 min read

Othaya MP Gichuki Mugambi has dumped Deputy President William Ruto for Raila Odinga, as the ODM leader continues to woo the vote-rich region and have it back his 2022 presidential dream.

The legislator was among legislators from Mt Kenya who were present at the Mt Kenya Foundation meeting in Safari Park where the former prime minister was the chief guest.

This was the first time the vocal legislator was openly showing his support for Raila and his agenda for the region.

Central Kenya MPs present were Ndirangi Waihenya (Roysambu), Mercy Gakuya (Kasarani), Ruth Mwaniki (Kigumo), Wanjiku Kibeh (Gatundu North), Kanini Kega (Kieni), Maoka Maore (Igembe North), and Former Dagoreti South MP Dennis Waweru.

Others outside Mt Kenya were Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Senators Sam Ongeri (Kisii), James Orengo (Siaya), and EALA MP Oburu Odinga.

Governors Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia), Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and James Nyoro (Kiambu) were also present.

With Othaya MP shifting camps from UDA, Rigathi Gachagua (MP for Mathira) and is now the only vocal pro-Ruto MP in Nyeri county. Kanini Kega (Kieni), Ngunjir Wambugu (Nyeri Town), Peter Kamari (Mathioya) are all fully backing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his 2022 agenda.
