OKA principals in Naivasha to decide on flagbearer

The One Kenya Alliance principals Kalonzo Musyoka (WDM), Musalia Mudavadi (KANU), Gideon Moi (KANU), Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya), and Cyrus Jirongo (KANU) begin a three-day retreat in Naivasha today, to deliberate on who should be the outfit’s presidential candidate, as well as the means to pick him.

According to reports, the retreat will see the OKA technical committee, made up of top aides and strategists of the four party leaders prepare a strategy paper for their bosses, and thereafter the principals will report on Friday to adopt the recommendations of the technical committee on the matter of picking a presidential flag bearer.

The Naivasha retreat comes a time talk is rife ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart are secretly engaging DP William Ruto over a possibility of working together to face Odinga. On the other hand, Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper and KANU Chairman Gideon Moi are accused of being Raila’s stooges in the shaky alliance.

Both Kalonzo and Senator Moi have publicly flirted with Raila Odinga, with the most recent one being in December during the Wiper Party Delegates conference and at the national Azimio la Umoja convention in Kasarani, Nairobi.

On two separate occasions, Raila Odinga has exuded confidence his path together with that of Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi will cross in the future, an indication he is open to working with the two leaders
