Kanini Kega: Raila Odinga is the real deal

Kieni MP Kanini Kega has heaped unusual praise on ODM leader Raila Odinga, saying the former prime minister was the real deal for Mt Kenya people and that the purported deep state was the voter, after a successful tour by the former prime minister to the vote-rich region, meeting with the Mt Kenya Foundation, and getting backed by 25 Kieleweke MPs allied to Uhuru Kenyatta.

Apart from the Kieni MP, other Mt Kenya legislators who have openly indicated they will back the ODM leader next year are National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya (Kipipiri), MPs Maoka Maore (Igembe Central), Kanini Kega (Kieni), Sabina Chege (Murang’a), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town) Ruth Mwaniki (Kigumo), Gichuki Mugambi (Othaya) and Dennis Waweru (former Dagoretti MP.

Speaking on Monday after the meeting one of the attendees disclosed they had discussed how to work with the ODM leader in 2022 following instructions from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

”We will work as one entity with the aim to pass the government’s agenda and also to prepare for the 2022 polls. The MPs have assured Raila of their support with the blessings of their party leader. It was a wonderful meeting,”  the source.

Remarks that were backed by Nyeri Town Ngunjiri Wambugu.

”He also reiterated that all Kenyans, wherever they are, whatever their political persuasion, should be allowed to live and work wherever they want in Kenya. He committed to respecting our leaders and gave his history, including where he keeps falling out with our region, and how he intends to fix that,” said Wambugu on his Facebook page.
