Juja MP seat aspirant wanted by police over forgery

The Kiambu Law Courts has issued a warrant of arrest against Mr. George Koimburi, who is vying for the seat on a Peoples Empowerment Party ticket. The People’s Empowerment candidate is accused of forging his academic credentials, including KCPE, and KCSE certificates.

According to court documents, between November and December 1994, Mr. Koimburi forged a KNEC certificate serial number 2015684. with intent to deceive, he forged a Knec certificate serial number 2015684.

The documents proceed to accuse the aspirant of forging a JKUAT certificate, serial number JKU/KENET/2011-2012/c6, between September 2011 and April 2012.

Even though the IEBC has published Mr. Koimburi’s name among the 11 aspirants who will be on the ballot, questions have now emerged on PEP candidate’s qualifications to run.

Mr Koimburi had unsuccessfully vied for the Juja parliamentary seat in 2017 on a Farmers Party ticket. He came second in the election in which Mr Waititu was re-elected. 

The People’s Empowerment Party is led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and is leaning towards DP Ruto.
