The One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals held a closed-door meeting at the Kalonzo Musyoka Command Center in Nairobi to discuss the status of the shaky alliance as well as ensure it does not disintegrate amidst sharp division among its members.

Details from the Tuesday evening meeting indicate that the principals ( Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, and Gideon Moi) resolved to keep the outfit intact ahead of August 2022 presidential election. The four agreed to soldier on with their initial plan of fielding a presidential candidate to face off with Raila Odinga and William Ruto, who are touted to be the two front-runners.

The four OKA chiefs also laid out a timeline for naming a presidential candidate who will carry the interests of the coalition going forward.

During the meeting, Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi were also made to explain their stand regarding their recent dalliance with ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto. The ANC leader’s recent meeting with Deputy President William Ruto raised eyebrows with even sources from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) indicating that the two are in talks for a coalition.

According to reports, Kanu Chairman Senator Gideon Moi, Wiper’s Party boss  Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi will this morning address the media at Hermosa Hotel, Karen, Nairobi to divulge full details of their meeting and also explain the way forward for the shaky alliance.
