Kenyans Rebuke William Ruto’s 50 CAS Nominees

President William Ruto on Thursday nominated 50 Cabinet Administrative Secretaries to serve in his cabinet after approval by Parliament, a move that has outraged Kenyans, given the current economic turmoil in the country.

Despite vowing during his presidential campaigns to not create new positions for a few wealthy individuals at the expense of serving poor Kenyans, President Ruto has made an about-turn to create new CAS positions and has the biggest cabinet compared to his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.

Compounding CAS illegalities…

The Head of State is now being put on task to explain how a broke government, struggling to raise revenue for national development has resources to pay new political appointees.

Even when you want to say Raila Odinga should not call for maandamano, you wake up to 50 CAS positions created for politicians who have been part of the problems in this country then Millicent Omanga made Interior CAS. We love jokes in this country. But again, Hustler tawala!

It is so sad that when the country is neck deep in debt, we can afford to hire 50 CAS. This is a wasteful expenditure which will add no value to the country. Public positions are no longer an opportunity to serve the country but a reward for political sycophancy.
