Hundreds of Police Officers Deployed to Guard Kisumu State House Ahead of 20th March

Kenya Police has deployed its officers around State House in Kisumu ahead of the 20th of March protests announced by Azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga.

The officers have erected barriers near the entrance of the State lodge along Jomo Kenyatta Highway with dozens of anti-riot officers as opposed to previous occasions.

On Wednesday afternoon, March 15, Communications Authority Director Ezra Chiloba was whisked to safety after anti-President William Ruto protesters stormed a meeting Chiloba was presiding over at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports Complex in Kisumu.

The event, marking World Consumer Rights Day, was just about to end when hundreds of protesters forced their way into the complex.

The protesters ate all the food belonging to the guests, and thereafter caused a commotion, forcing the attendees to flee.
