Homabay: Raila calls for six-piece in Nyanza, asks Luos to remain united ahead of polls

Azimio Movement leader Raila Odinga was Kabondo Kasipul Constituency in Homabay County this afternoon attending the burial of Kenya’s ambassador to Qatar Hon. Paddy Ahenda just days after issuing the ODM Party ticket to Woman Rep Gladys Wanga for the county’s governor’s seat.

Mr. Odinga accompanied by the region’s MPs, Senators, and Governors among them Senator Moses Kajwang, MPs Babu Owino, Millie Mabona, James Nyikal, Opondo Kaluma, Eve Obara called for his supporters to vote all ODM candidates from MCA to President and urged the Luo community to remain united.

”Our people must stay united. We cannot win the presidency if we are not united here at the bottom…Here we must vote six-piece all the way. I am ready to fight it out at the top if you are united down here,” Mr. Odinga said.

The Homabay county gubernatorial race has drawn attention and is touted to be one of the hotly contested seats pitting the ODM candidate against former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero who is running on an Independent ticket.
