2017 Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Peter Kenneth says Raila Odinga is a committed leader who has sacrificed and suffered for the country, than any leader currently on the national scene.

Speaking to KTN’s Ken Mijungu, the former Gatanga MP recounted how the former PM has had to put aside his political differences and join hands with his rivals for sake of the country’s prosperity.

”He was detained by former President Moi for nine years. He came out and still formed a coalition with Moi. He did not bring any enmity or any anger when he came out. He then worked, even with this current president in saying NO in a constitutional referendum in 2005.

”And again in 2010. In between there he supported Kibaki, with Kibaki tosha, and an MoU was not honored….he still formed a grand coalition with President Kibaki. He ran again in 2013 he lost and he lived on. 2017 he ran again, it was nullified but 6 months after that there was the handshake. What does this tell you of the man? He has his own sacrifices, commitments and he has suffered,” Kenneth said on Wednesday night.

PK, as he is famously known, disclosed the ODM leader was currently the most influential political figure in Kenya, whom top leaders have passed through his hands in the last twenty years.

”If you look at many of the political players in the last twenty years right now, they have all passed under his table. If he was a football coach, he has brought out talent.”

Kenneth, a former MP, is one of the allies of Raila Odinga from the Mt Kenya region and is listed among Mt Kenya leaders angling to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta as the region’s kingpin. He has also been touted as being part of an alliance currently being woven by Odinga for 2022.
