DP Ruto’s Turkish Aide Harun Aydin Deported

Harun Aydin, the Turkish National cum “investor” who was part of Deputy President William Ruto’s entourage to Uganda has been deported.

Aydin was held by Immigration DCI officers at Wilson Airport on Saturday, August 7, 2021, shortly after landing from Uganda’s trip.

Authorities revealed that they wanted to question the foreigner regarding his work permit, migration status and businesses he was partaking in the region.

Officers from the anti-terror police picked him for further grilling. He was taken to the Anti Terror Nairobi offices along Ngong Road and later the Nairobi Area Police Station.

Last week, drama ensued at JKIA after DP Ruto was allegedly stopped from traveling to Uganda. Speculations alluded that the DP was stopped from traveling to Uganda for the country’s interest.

Later, it emerged that DP Ruto’s aide, Harun Aydin who was part of his entourage had raised red flags following links with terrorism activities.

For instance, the New York Times revealed that Aydin had previously been arrested for being a member of a militant group in Cologne, Federation of Islamic Associations and Communities, led by Muhammed Metin Kaplan alias the caliph of Cologne.

Aydin had ideally been previously been sentenced to four years in jail after he was found guilty of advocating the murder of a rival, Halil Ibrahim Sofu, but was later acquitted.

Speaking over the weekend during the burial of Tabitha Atiwno, the wife of COTU Deputy Secretary-General, COTU SG Francis Atwoli accused Deputy President William Ruto of trying to create anarchy and chaos to have Kenyans kill each other.

”We will not allow Kenyans to kill each other. All these things you are hearing about Uganda. Security agents should be cautious and check the imports at the Kenya – Uganda border, all containers because some are carrying weapons. Weapons are being brought into the country, and I am prepared to write a statement on that,” Atwoli said.

This was linked to Ruto’s recently aborted trip to Uganda.
