National Assembly Chair of the Finance Committee Gladys Wanga says she will be calling on the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to furnish the National Assembly with tax information and investor detail including the amounts of taxes Harun Aydin has paid to the government of Kenya, during his period of stay in Kenya.
Last week, while addressing the media from his Kapsaret home after the aborted controversial trip, Oscar Sudi, who was a part of the Deputy President’s entourage to Uganda told Kenyans Mr. Harun Aydin was a Turkish investor engaging in modern fruit farming.
Aydin was held by Immigration DCI officers at Wilson Airport on Saturday, August 7, 2021, shortly after landing from Uganda’s trip. Authorities revealed that they wanted to question the foreigner regarding his work permit, migration status, and businesses he was partaking in the region.
Officers from the anti-terror police picked him for further grilling. He was taken to the Anti Terror Nairobi offices along Ngong Road and later the Nairobi Area Police Station.
Speaking over the weekend during the burial of Tabitha Atiwno, the wife of COTU Deputy Secretary-General, COTU SG Francis Atwoli accused Deputy President William Ruto of trying to create anarchy and chaos to have Kenyans kill each other.
”We will not allow Kenyans to kill each other. All these things you are hearing about Uganda. Security agents should be cautious and check the imports at the Kenya – Uganda border, all containers because some are carrying weapons. Weapons are being brought into the country, and I am prepared to write a statement on that,” Atwoli said.
This was linked to Ruto’s recently aborted trip to Uganda.
