William Ruto says there are plans to have Baringo Senator Gideon Moi face him in 2022. Speaking in Nairobi’s Kamukunji area, the DP revealed the KANU leader was being fronted because of his name and powerful connections, and those for the idea want to use him (Gideon) to lock him out of State House in 2022.
”They are now telling me, I am a good person but because nobody knows my father I cannot be president. They now want Gideon Moi to face off with me. Just because of his name,” the DP said.
Senator Moi, an ally of both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga has not announced he is running for presidency in 2022.
During his trip to Kamukunji, Ruto, who was accompanied by politician Bishop Margaret Wanjiru also hit out at those pushing for the BBI, saying Kenya’s problem was not the constitution.
“Kenya’s problem is not the constitution and neither is it tribalism. We have to fix the policies and economy that will offer employment and expand businesses,” he said.
The DP assured the Kamukunji Business community when he takes over in 2022, he will prioritise the small business holders.
“When we make the next budget, if God so wishes, we will not start with the national or county governments, but rather we will prioritise funds that will help the business community,” he assured.
