British man arrested for conducting surveillance using drone at DP Ruto’s Karen residence

Hind Jeremy, a 37-year-old British national was arrested by the Presidential elite guards after his drone allegedly strayed into DP William Ruto’s Karen residence, while conducting surveillance in the neighborhood. Hind Jeremy has been arrested after his drone allegedly ‘strayed’ into DP William Ruto’s residence in Karen, Nairobi. Mr. Jeremy was arrested on Monday evening.

According to the police report, the Briton has been detained and is being grilled by the authorities for causing panic, as well as his motive. Nairobi’s Regional Police Commander Augustine Nthenge says Mrs. Rachel Ruto reported the incident yesterday at 3 pm, after noticing the drone hovering over their home.

Mrs. Ruto’s complaint compelled police officers to rush to the scene. The officers established the device originated from a neighbor’s compound. Authorities have seized the drone and its memory card, to help in the ongoing investigations.
