COTU Boss Francis Atwoli says former president Uhuru Kenyatta will cause many problems for the Kenya Kwanza regime if he remains idle with no active roles to play in the current administration.

Speaking to members of COTU on Saturday, Atwoli noted the Constitution should be amended to ensure future former presidents are designated specific roles after they leave office so that they do not cross paths with their successors.

”In 2017, I warned that Uhuru would cause many problems once he retires. I said he has a lot of money and cannot just sit around. We should get to a point and squeeze this Constitution and say once he has served for 10 years, he should become a peacemaker. That should be advocated for in the Constitution,” Atwoli said.

On Wednesday, April 26, Uhuru made an impromptu visit to Jubilee Party headquarters in Kileleshwa and castigated the deviant Jubilee members for causing mayhem.

Three days later, on Saturday, April 29 the former head of state gave a notice to Jubilee Party leaders for a special national delegates conference which he will lead in Nairobi at the Bomas of Kenya on 22nd May.

In a notice published in the country’s leading newspapers, Mr. Kenyatta has listed three issues among them, the review, formulation, and approval of party policies as part of the meeting’s agenda.

Others are to receive a status report from the National Executive Committee as well as the consideration and approval of other matters by the party.
