Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi is facing a threat of being impeached by Members of the Kiambu County Assembly over what the ward reps describe as poor management of the county and nepotism by the county boss.
According to sources from the county, close to 15 MCAs have thrown their weight behind the move to oust Wamatangi from office.
The ward reps are also not impressed with the County Executive Committee Member for Finance, Nancy Kiruba, whom they have accused of negligence and is also targetted for removal alongside the governor.
On Tuesday last week, a defiant Wamatangi said none of his opponents plotting his impeachment equals his political stature and that he will not concentrate on rebutting whenever they accuse him of mismanaging the county.
