Ahmednasir: Courts in Kenya are Like Chips Sold Over the Counter

1 min read

Lawyer Ahmednasir has castigated the country’s Judicial system saying Courts in Kenya sell justice to the highest bidder and likened them to chips, the popular Kenyan fast food sold in restaurants.

In a tweet reacting to last week’s court order blocking Sabina Chege’s removal from the Deputy Minority Whip position, the Senior Counsel said the country’s judicial system was broken and is a place where justice was prepared quickly and then served while hot to those who can afford it.

On Thursday, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula said a court order had been issued barring Nominated MP Sabina Chege’s removal.

“Honorable members from the foregoing, my hands are tied with regard to the court order that has been brought to my attention.

Until and unless further information is provided, that this order has been varied or set aside, the court order effectively suspends the decision by the minority party on the replacement of Sabina Chege as the deputy minority whip,” Speaker Wetangula said.
