Kalonzo shares advice to Ruto over plan to unveil Vision 2060
It is little wonder that a Kenyan opposition team who have no clue what they want to achieve for Kenyans other than their WANTAM desperation call the idea of Kenya looking into vision 2060 as a bad thing for the country. For the opposition, of course planning for the future of Kenya and the young generation is not part of their agenda. They just want votes in 2027 and take power and that is everything for them and for the country.
Where the next generation takes their country when most of us and those leaders are dead is something they cannot even comprehend. It is an outrageous thought for them. How dare anybody think of that Kenya for the future.
Predictably the United Opposition with the likes of Kalonzo and Gachagua leading the charge now think that fighting against Vision 2060 is going to be a big part of their agenda to defeat Ruto in 2027 and they would care less about anything to help improve the lives, healthcare and economic prospects for Kenyans right here and now going to 2060.
In the news, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed President William Ruto’s Vision 2060 agenda, insisting that Kenya should focus on fully implementing the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and delivering the promises of Vision 2030 instead of pursuing a new national development blueprint.
“What you need to do, Mr President, is to make sure that this country lives in accordance with the Constitution 2010. That is where we should begin. The idea is not Vision 2060,” Kalonzo said.
After that meeting with Edwin Sifuna at SMK Kalonzo Musyoka has now adopted the Sifuna agenda which is that the 2010 will solve all the problems Kenyans face in their lives and therefore the whole agenda for the opposition is to defend the 2010 constitution.
Where in that constitution does it say anything about jobs for Kenyans and our young generation involved in the economic growth of their country and for themselves.
Nowhere because that is the work of the government in power to develop economic plans and initiatives to get Kenyans working, investing and growing the economy for themselves and for the country.
Those governments are judged by the results of those efforts as President Ruto will be in 2027 elections.
Where in that constitution does it provide healthcare for Kenyans? Nowhere although health is a right to all Kenyans but how to make that available is up to the government in place to figure out. Jomo Kenyatta had NHIF in 1966 and today William Ruto has SHA to address healthcare needs for Kenyans. What does the opposition offer Kenyans in healthcare services?
How about roads and the entire transport system where Kenyans need to move to get to jobs, they need good transport system with roads, rail system working and all that to move their produce to the markets.
Where in the constitution do we have the whole plan for transport system in Kenya? Nowhere because it is the job of the government in place to put all that up for Kenyans and they need to have a plan of how that is going to work.
Where is the opposition agenda to build effective transport system in the country. Zero is their plan for that because the constitution is going to somehow miraculously build roads and the SGR for Kenyans. Lovely.
After realizing they have no agenda for Kenyans and it is bad for them Kalonzo Musyoka now want to smuggle Sifuna’s idea that the 2010 constitution will solve everything for Kenyans now and that is 16 years after it was promulgated.
Where has Kalonzo been all those 16 years to make sure the constitution solved every problem have faced and still deal with today?
Kalonzo was the Vice President when the constitution was put in place in 2010. What did Kalonzo as the VP do working with his boss President Mwai Kibaki to make the constitution solve every problem Kenyans were dealing with in healthcare, education, jobs and economic development.
Kenya’s new constitution was approved by 67% of voters in a national referendum on 4 August 2010 and was officially promulgated on 27 August 2010.
That 2010 constitution did not come by accident. It was because people like Raila Odinga made a promise to Kenyans in 2002 that removing Moi from power was not enough until Kenya has a new democratic constitution and Raila Odinga fought his entire life from 2002 to when he died to make sure that constitution was passed and was being implemented.
Can Kalonzo and his many opposition groups start with the fact that some of the key pieces in the 2010 constitution have NOT been achieved and most of that makes the whole 2010 constitution completely useless to Kenyans other than opposition leaders trying to hang on the constitution to take power while they have done nothing to implement that constitution while in government for decades.
Start with Chapter Six of the constitution which declared that thieves, criminals and murderers will not hold public office in Kenya including the presidency, MPs to hold any other public office. Chapter Six has collapsed completely under Kibaki and Kalonzo and then later Uhuru Kenyatta.
Today the only people holding public office from the presidency to the MPs from all parties are all thieves and criminals and in fact it looks like criminality is the only qualification one needs to hold public office in Kenya.
The reason that has happened is that parliament has refused to do its job which was to formulate the legal procedures to keep the criminals out of public offices.
President Mwai Kibaki with his VP Kalonzo Musyoka did not want Chapter Six brought to life in 2010 because Kibaki who killed thousands of Kenyans in 2007/8 post-election violence would be unfit to hold office if Chapter Six was in place and neither would Uhuru Kenyatta now William Ruto after ICC cases.
Can Chapter Six be brought to life after the 2027 elections and can it be an election issue where candidates including those running for the presidency agree to the implementation of Chapter Six with legislation which should be framed now before the elections and implemented right after the next president is sworn in office.
In the 2010 constitution it states the following with regards to Chapter Six:
Parliament shall enact legislation—(a) establishing procedures and mechanisms for the effective administration of this Chapter;
(b) prescribing the penalties, in addition to the penalties referred to in Article 75, that may be imposed for a contravention of this Chapter;
(c) providing for the application of this Chapter, with the necessary modifications, to public officers; and
(d) making any other provision necessary for ensuring the promotion of the principles of leadership and integrity referred to in this Chapter, and the enforcement of this Chapter.
The United Opposition led by Rigathi Gachagua himself who President William Ruto as soon as they took office in August 2022 ordered the DPP to drop the public theft case against him to help him keep Sh. 7.3 billion he stole from Kenyans will never even talk about Chapter Six of the Kenya 2010 constitution.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is off the hook in the Sh7.3 billion corruption charges after a court yesterday allowed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to withdraw the case.
Rigathi Gachagua will not allow the opposition to talk about implementing Chapter Six of the constitution on keeping thieves, crooks and criminals out of public office using Chapter Six of the Kenya 2010 Constitution because he would be first victim of that and he is going to tell the opposition leaders to just to talk about how their tribes support them and that is the end of the story. That is the opposition agenda in Kenya for 2027.
Good luck with that my friends. You would think going nowhere would be easier but that is the route the United Opposition has chosen.
The Gachagua formula for 2027 is to support people they deem to lead certain tribes where they want votes. That is okay but the problem is that it could lead to a complete mess and political tragedy for them when they dump all those leaders who are aspiring for the presidency into the nowhere land within the United Opposition tickets.
The supporters for those aspiring young opposition leaders could be the lighting rod against United Opposition once their heroes are thrown out of any leadership positions in the United Opposition tickets to be handed over to lifetime politicians with no clue for the country.
The only other election stuff will be MPs, governors and MCA’s fighting their asses off to get re-elected. Nothing new is there but it is coming one year from now and that is good for the country.
The big issue for the opposition is simple. Can Kalonzo Musyoka beat William Ruto for the presidential position without any agenda for the country whatsoever?
