There is a case in court right now about a Gachagua supporter who threatened that people in Mt. Kenya regions who don’t support Gachagua will be killed if they do not vote for DCP in 2027.
MP Kaguchia was arrested over remarks he made during a public rally in Kieni, Nyeri County on Saturday.
During the rally, Kaguchia warned Mt Kenya residents of dire consequences if they vote for President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in his Kikuyu dialect, said that those who will vote for President Ruto will be tracked to their homes and smoked out.
The entire opposition from Kalonzo Musyoka have defended the MP making those frightening threats and are now in court fighting to get the case thrown out.
It is exactly those violent sentiments by the MP that Gachagua is promoting when he tells all political parties in Mt. Kenya to fold up and join DCP. That is going to be Gachagua’s politics for 2027. It will be him and nobody else down there never mind that as an impeached DP Gachagua will not run for any office in 2027.

“He is not acting as a bully, he is a bully. You saw how he talked about the governor of Murang’a the other day, calling him kiherehere, and the governor was attacked by some goons when he went to Ol Kalou. He needs to act more responsibly.”
The bitter back-and-forth reflects broader anxieties over leadership within the opposition.
Following Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) victory in the Ol Kalou by-election, Gachagua criticised smaller political outfits in Mount Kenya, urging them to streamline regional bargaining power.
“I saw yesterday my brothers Justin Muturi, Peter Munya, and Lenny Kivuti were complaining that DCP has become too strong,” Gachagua told supporters.
“I think they are misguided. Democracy thrives on competition. I have not told anyone to dissolve their party. But if you don’t market your party, you will end up making losses.”
Rigathi Gachagua is now telling the opposition a very clear statements that if you are in Mt. Kenya you join DCP or get lost. Very soon that is going to spread and we have the new movement Linda Mwananchi coming up and they are in the process of forming a political party to contest seats including the presidency in 2027.
Gachagua is going to tell the Linda team after they register their political party that they can fold and join DCP if they want to contest any seats in 2027 otherwise, he will have nothing to do with them. Full Stop. Then what?
That is Gachagua politics and it is going to cause serious complications for the opposition which still has no clue how to choose their presidential candidate.
