Tabitha Karanja sweeps Nakuru Senate UDA elections

Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja has won the Nakuru Senate UDA elections with a landslide after garnering 98, 439 votes followed by his closest competitor Gichanga Daniel who had 12, 240 votes. Andrew Yatich came in second with 8,043 votes.

This is her debut in politics and is touted by supporters of UDA as one of the favorites to clinch the seat on August 9th.

Last year while declaring her intentions for the Nakuru seat, Dr. Karanja said her bid was aimed at changing policies she termed as punitive to local investors.

Another winner is Liza Chelule who bagged the Nakuru UDA Woman Representative race with 86,340 votes, beating Jennifer Kajuju (56,022) and Flora Kiprop (25,955).
