Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday night held a crisis meeting at his Sugoi home in Moiben constituency to come up with a new strategy that will effectively contain the Martha Karua wave threatening to undo his four-year gains in the vote-rich region.
A credible source from the Hustler’s Center in Nairobi confides to this publication William Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) as well as top UDA luminaries from Mt Kenya and Rift Valley were present.
”Martha Karua has changed the Mt Kenya terrain and she is getting a reception many never expected. Mt Kenya should not be a battleground but a stronghold. The meeting was about Mt Kenya politics and the changing dynamics,” she said.
After her unveiling as a running mate on Monday this week, Karua, also the Narc-Kenya leader has held over 28 political rallies across the Mt Kenya region with an overwhelming reception from residents- something that has driven UDA into a panic.
