Deputy President William Ruto has poured cold water on Azimio la Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga’s decision to pick Martha Karua as his running mate, saying the ODM leader was confused in his decision while discrediting Karua’s position in Azimio as the second most powerful leader after Mr. Odinga.
”Wale tunashindana nao have nothing original, ni utapeli na ukora. Wakati walisikia tunapanga mambo ya mama mboga, yule mtu wa kitendawili alikimbia na kumchukua mama moja na kumfanya running mate wake, kwa sababu ya kuchanganikiwa,” DP Ruto said in Embu at a meeting with UDA supporters.

The choice of Karua as Mr. Odinga’s running mate plus her reception across Mt Kenya has rattled the UDA camp, prompting DP Ruto to kick off a four-day tour of the vote-rich region to assert UDA dominance and put an iron curtain against Azimio penetration.
Yesterday, the Kenya Kwanza team was in Nakuru and Nyandarua counties.
