Ruto allies threaten to go after Kenyatta’s land as war with Uhuru gets nasty

2 mins read

Deputy President William Ruto and his allies in United Democratic Movement (UDA) have threatened to go after the expansive pieces of land owned by the Kenyatta family in Mt Kenya and around the country.

This comes just a day after Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiangi undressed Deputy President William Ruto on live television, exposing his multi-billion empire protected by the country’s elite security.

Led by MPs Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Cecily Mbarire ( Runyenjes), and Gathoni Wamuchomba (Kiambu Woman Rep) the leaders said they have enough ammunition against the Kenyatta family on issues of land which is one of the untouched live wires in the region’s politics.

”Matiang’i has done the right thing by introducing the topic of land ownership…And we will now start addressing land issues now that they have brought up the topic. We want to know who stole Mau Mau parcels of land in Kahawa and in Nakuru; who owns those parcels of land and how many GSU officers are guarding them?” Rigathi Gachagua asked.

The Mathira MP’s remarks were backed by Wamuchomba who says as a descendant of the Mau Mau, she had no land and the current piece she owns was not inherited from her grandfather, but bought with hard-earned money.

“I was very surprised that Matiang’i brought up a very sensitive chapter, and if we start talking about lands being stolen, there are people who are going to go into hiding because we know all about the stolen lands.”

“There are so many people from my County whose sons and daughters of Mau Mau fighters have no land and they don’t even have a place to bury their family. So when they bring the topic of land, we will turn on the heat and ask very hard questions,” the MP lamented.

The leaders were speaking in Karen on Thursday, at the Deputy President’s official residence where Ruto hosted a delegation of grassroots leaders from Nakuru county.
