ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday evening met the extended Kenyatta family in Mombasa as talks of a political coalition between Uhuru Kenyatta and the ODM leader take center stage. Last Sunday, President Uhuru Kenyatta abruptly changed his flight schedule from the UK where had been on a five-day state visit, to land in Mombasa instead of JKIA as earlier planned.
Credible sources have confided to this publication the Head of State was to meet close family members from Monday to Wednesday, and leave for Nairobi today where he is supposed to attend a number of funeral events including to console CS Amina Mohammed who lost her husband while the president was away.
Last evening’s meeting came just hours after Jubilee Vice Chairperson David Murathe told Kenyans to prepare for a Raila Odinga presidency with or without the BBI, at a gathering in Nairobi attended by the ODM leader and youth from Muranga.
”I have said and I say it again prepare for Raila presidency in 2022. As we speak we want to ensure Jakom is president with or without the BBI,” Murathe said on Tuesday.
President Uhuru is expected in Western Kenya counties of Vihiga and Kakamega this Sunday where he will commission various government projects and initiatives.
