Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu says Mt Kenya’s support for Raila Odinga is premised on the fact that the Azimio flagbearer agrees to share his government with the region on partnership terms, unlike what the region is being treated to in the William Ruto led United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

In a phone interview on Friday evening with this writer, the Jubilee Party legislator explained progenitors of the ‘hatupangwingwi’ slogan in Mt Kenya are blind to the fact that leadership is about give and take, where parties plus every other player involved are able to compromise positions for the sake of their associates.

”Raila Odinga agrees to share the Azimio government with Mt Kenya. Amekubali kupangwa by listening to our demands as Mt Kenya…It is about a give and take while in pursuit of power and when forming government. We are in Azimio as partners wenye wakubali kupangana,” the Nyeri Town legislator said, adding that a totally opposite proffer is available for Mt Kenya in UDA and Kenya Kwanza.

”Huko wanasema hawapangwingwi lakini wakaazi wa Mlima Kenya wameendelea kupangwa na kiongozi wa UDA. He decides everything in UDA. We are only working with people who we can sit and agree with to solve our problems as a region,” he added.

The Kielweke founder is among Mt Kenya parliamentarians currently having boots on the ground mobilizing support for the Azimio-One Kenya coalition and its flagbearer in the vote-rich region.
