Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is currently before the Kiambu Law Courts after being rushed to the Nairobi Hospital early earlier in the morning. According to sources from the Nairobi Hospital, Sonko was rushed to the facility aboard an ambulance from the Gigiri Police Station. Also, there are reports the ousted governor has massive blood pressure.

The magistrate at Kiambu Law Courts is expected to make a ruling on Sonko’s bail application in a case he is charged with robbery with violence and assault. The court will rule on an application seeking to detain the former governor for 30 days to complete investigations on the terror charges against him.

“I have intelligence information that the suspect is connected to financing of terrorism activities and he is in the advance stage of procuring arms and ammunition using a wide syndicate which is complex ad sophisticated,” an affidavit filed in court by a Chief Inspector Newton Thimangu of the Anti Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU), an arm of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) read in part.
