Kirinyaga Woman Rep Purity Ngirici has sent tongues wagging over her Thursday morning social media post wishing ODM leader Raila Odinga a happy birthday, a day earlier, before the actual date of the former prime minister’s birth. The Woman Rep, a former ally of Deputy President William Ruto seems to be gravitating towards Mr. Odinga after falling out with the DP and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) outfit.
On Wednesday, Ngirici lashed out at Ruto saying the interests of the people of Mt Kenya cannot be dictated by outsiders (in reference to the DP) and that it was only through partnerships and the election of independent-minded leaders that Mt. Kenya will benefit.

”We as Mt Kenya might produce a DP but we’ll only be sure that he/she shall be respected if we have a solid coalition. This is the voice equally being echoed by Hon William Kabogo, Hon. Mwangi Kiunjuri, Hon. Martha Karua , Hon Kiraitu Murungi and Hon. Moses Kuria who have political parties that some quarters are referring to as tribal arrangements,” the Woman Rep said.
Speaking two weeks ago in Kirinyaga, the woman rep who may run on an Independent ticket told residents they can vote for ODM leader Raila Odinga if they feel he is capable of taking over from President Uhuru Kenyatta, just like there are those who feel DP Ruto should be president next year.
