The Ministry of Transport has resolved to convene a consultative forum for digital taxi companies and their drivers this September.

This is according to Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen, who spoke on Friday afternoon while receiving a petition from the drivers, who detailed the challenges they face in their day-to-day operations.

”After listening to the drivers and having previously listened to challenges faced by the digital taxi companies, I have resolved to convene a consultative forum in September,” CS Murkomen said.

The forum will bring together the drivers, the companies, NTSA, and other Government agencies with a view of finding lasting solutions to the existing challenges facing the digital taxis sector.

The CS noted his ministry is fully committed to tackling emerging issues in different subsectors of the transport industry with the intention of creating an enabling environment to attract investors in the sector and encourage business growth without disenfranchising the hustler operators and the end users.
