Roads and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen says the government will clear all pending roads in Mt Kenya and other parts of the republic.

The CS spoke on Thursday when he visited Kiambu County to assess the progress of the Thika- Magumu road that traverses both Thika Town and Gatundu North Constituencies.

”I am glad that after protracted negotiations with the contractor, we managed to find a formulae for delivering the project. So far in less than 2 months the contractor has managed to tarmac 20KM of the road which had been neglected for four years,” CS Murkomen said.

”I assure the Republic that we shall complete all the pending roads in line with the promises we made in our manifesto,” he added.

PS Eng. Joseph Mbugua, Senator Karungu Thang’wa, MP Hon. Kururia Njoroge, DG Kenha Eng. Kungu Ndungu and a number of MCAs accompanied the Transport CS.

Last month while on a tour of the vote-rich region, President Ruto said that government projects that have stalled will be relaunched and expanded. He told residents of Nyeri County the projects will also be modernised to cater for the growing population.
