Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo says President William Ruto’s weekend visit to Homabay County, where he attended a Sunday service at the Homabay Town AIC was in bad faith, to spite his arch-rival, Raila Odinga.

Senator Maanzo who spoke on Tuesday morning at an interview with a local media house noted that despite the Head of State saying he was ready to work with leaders from Nyanza region, politically, it was spiteful.

”President Ruto’s visit to Homa Bay was to spit Raila Odinga, it was not done in good faith, It is a good gesture that he wants to work with everyone but when you look at it politically this was spiteful,” Senator Maanzo said.

President Ruto was accompanied by MP David Ochieng, former MPs Silvanus Osele, Dalmas Otieno, ICT Cabinet Secretary nominee Eliud Owalo, former Governors Okoth Obado, and Jack Ranguma.

Host leaders including Governor Gladys Wanga and Homa Bay town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma did not show up to meet the Head of State at the church service in the region citing various reasons.
