Second term Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina is the new Senate Deputy Minority Whip. The Narok Senator replaces ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna who had been announced earlier.

Observers wondered how Sifuna, a first term senator, had bagged the powerful position leaving out more ranking members. It is unclear what led to Sifuna’s downfall but sources point to his interference in Nairobi County Assembly leadership where he is accused of sneaking in names of MCAs friendly to him as the official Azimio leadership line up without consulting coalition higher ups.

Azimio coalition senate leadership now has Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo (ODM) as Leader of Minority deputised by Enock Wambua (Wiper).

Senator Fatuma Dullo (Jubilee) will be the Senate Minority Whip, deputized by Ledama Ole Kina.
