Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has rolled up his sleeves, to thrust himself into the national political scene after serving Makueni as its governor for two terms.

For the last two weeks, there have been speculations on whether Kibwana is contemplating joining Raila Odinga’s camp ahead of 2022.

On Monday, the county boss met top ODM officials, from Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni, after spending time with Raila Odinga last week.

Confirming the meeting, ODM  Kitui ODM Chairman Peter Munyasya said they had a fruitful discussion with the governor concerning regional and national politics.

“Today we had a fruitful discussion with Kivutha Kibwana about national and regional politics and crucially about emerging national and regional development issues,”  Mr. Munyasya said.

The ODM officials asked Kibwana to join hands with the orange party either directly or through a party of his choice, ahead of 2022.

On his part, the governor said he and Raila have been allies from the 90s when both were fighting for multiparty. Working together, therefore, would not be an impossibility.
