A political storm is currently brewing in Nakuru, pitting Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri against the area Senator Susan Kihika.
In what insiders describe as a nasty political brawl hidden away from the media, Senator Kihika unilaterally formed the Nakuru UDA secretariat and appointed her people as officials, despite protest from Bahati MP Kimani Ngnjiri. The MP wanted the two camps to propose a list of names and had fronted his daughter Edith Ngunjiri to lead the secretariat.
”The MP and his men are not happy with the senator. She is flexing the muscle of the Kihika family and their influence. She is well monied and knows the powerful in Nakuru. The secretariat was formed without informing anyone,” a source confided to this publication.
Attempts by the Bahati MP to have DP Ruto solve the impasse seem to have fallen on deaf ears, saying he does not want to be involved in local politics.
Currently, all top UDA officials in Nakuru allies of Senator Kihika- a thing that continues to upset Kimani Ngunjiri’s camp.
Edith Ngunjiri, the Bahiti MP’s daughter has declared her intention to run for the Nakuru Women Rep seat.
