Kalonzo, Ngilu to hold three-day joint Ukambani tour

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu will hold joint political rallies in the Ukambani region to ringfence it from DP William Ruto and UDA, as the former VP tries to consolidate his base, as well as steady the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) following Musalia Mudavadi’s exit.

Over the past few days, Governor Charity Ngilu, also a close ally of Raila Odinga has come out to strongly defend Mr. Musyoka from a wave of personal attacks from Deputy President William Ruto and his allies in Ukambani.

On Monday during an interview with a vernacular radio station, the Kitui county chief heaped praises on Kalonzo for being an astute and faithful leader but said he (Kalonzo) has been let down by his handlers in the quest to lead the country.

It was during the interview that the NARC leader disclosed she will be touring the Ukambani region jointly with Kalonzo, starting today in Kitui at a rally with KANU Chair Gideon Moi and Martha Karua.

Governor Ngilu has in the past suggested the only sure way for Kalonzo to be in government after President Uhuru retires is by joining hands with Raila Odinga.

Currently, Odinga, also the Azimio Movement leader enjoys the support of all the three Ukambani governors: Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), and Mama Ngilu (Kitui).
