Inside ODM leader’s morning meeting with Mt Kenya MPs

ODM leader Raila Odinga this morning held a breakfast meeting with Members of Parliament from the Mt Kenya region, where a number of national and issues affecting the populous region were discussed. This morning’s breakfast catch-up is coming just two days after the former prime minister was hosted by the Mt Kenya Foundation.

According to Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who was one of the MPs present, the MPs discussed with Mr. Odinga issues ranging from equal resource allocation, equal representation, access to government opportunities, political presence in government among others.

”Raila assured us of his good faith and commitment to ensuring all Kenyans get to enjoy one man-one-shilling-one-vote. He also reiterated that all Kenyans, wherever they are, whatever their political persuasion, should be allowed to live and work wherever they want in Kenya,” Ngunjiri Wambugu wrote.

”He committed to respecting our leaders and gave his history, including where he keeps falling out with our region, and how he intends to fix that. He also agreed that government projects started but not completed at end of Uhuru’s term should be finalized,” the MP continued.

This morning’s meeting was attended by MPs Amos Kimunya, Gichuki Mugambi, Mercy Gakuya , Jane Wanjuki, Hon Stanley Muthama, Hon Anthony Kiai, Hon Maoka Maore, Hon Kanini Kega and Hon Ngunjiri Wambugu.

Others were Hon Peter Mwathi, Hon Peter Kimari, Hon Sabina Chege, Hon Ruth Mwaniki, Hon Waihenya Ndirangu, Hon Senator Ngugi Isaac, Hon Eng. Ngugi, Hon Joseph Manje, Hon Wanjiku Kibe and Hon Jonah Mburu.
