Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyans not to listen to leaders inside Deputy President William Ruto’s camp, as they have integrity issues and are riddled by corruption. Mr. Musyoka who was speaking on Sunday in Machakos said leaders in Tanga Tanga, starting with DP William Ruto had looted from the public and were now trying to claim they are being intimidated by government.
”What do they have apart from giving stolen goodies back to the public? You saw it openly. The name of the thieves and now they are claiming it is political intimidation. You have stolen from Kenyans. You are thieves!” the Wiper leader charged.
Over the weekend, a war of words escalated between ODM leader Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto after the former PM, while in Mombasa said he will lock up all corrupt individuals in government when he takes over as president in 2022.
”What is the source of the millions of shillings they carry around and donate to churches? You see them come here in sheep’s clothing and claim they will fundraise for women and the youth. They are moving from place to place donating stolen money. When we take charge, all the thieves will be taken in. We will ensure that they are arrested and jailed in Shimo La Tewa,” said the ODM leader in Mvita constituency, Mombasa County, on Saturday.
His remarks did not go well with DP Ruto, whom, despite not being mentioned by Mr. Odinga on Saturday, fired back at the ODM leader on Sunday at a church service in Nairobi.
”“It is only in Kenya where the opposition pretends to run the government. The same opposition runs corruption cartels in government and the same opposition tries to run lectures on how to fight corruption. What an irony,” DP Ruto said.
As the 2022 succession matrix hots up, Mr. Odinga and his allies have seemingly turned their guns on the DP questioning the source of millions of shillings he donates to churches and various groups.
