Jubilee Party Vice Chairperson David Murathe has come out to defend President Uhuru Kenyatta from the latest bare-knuckle attacks from his deputy William Ruto, warning the DP he cannot lecture the Head of State on his Mt Kenya turf.

In a Tweet on Sunday night, Vice-Chair Murathe said Ruto is panicking over President Uhuru Kenyatta’s upcoming Mt Kenya tours and that from February, the region’s politics will change.

While addressing residents of Kirinyaga county over the weekend, the Deputy President told President Uhuru to give Kenyans a break with his Raila project and let the voters decide the fate of their country by freely allowing them to elect their leader without suffering intimidation and coercion.

”I have been your number one political friend and supporter for 22 years. You better understand the wrath the people streamed on you when a previous government tried to impose you to them. Therefore, with all due respect, the Raila project that you are attempting to force on people will not work,” the DP said.

A number of online reports indicate President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to tour the Mt Kenya region to launch a number of government projects. It is during this tour that Uhuru has vowed to tell his backyard the genesis of his fall out with the DP, and why he prefers Raila Odinga as his successor.
