President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga on Thursday afternoon met a delegation of leaders from the Luo Nyanza region ahead of the Head of State’s visit to Kisumu tomorrow.
At the meeting, ODM leader Raila Odinga expressed his gratitude to the Head of State for the national government projects he will officially commission during the visit. This according to Mr. Odinga, was in line with the bigger picture of building the country’s economy through infrastructure.
”The way to revive economy is through infrastructure. I am happy to see that your government has picked up and taken the issue of infrastructure very seriously. We are living at the most difficult time because of Covid-19 but with your efforts and determination I am sure we are going to revive our economy,” Raila said.
President Uhuru has a number of projects for launching and groundbreaking in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori, chief among them the revitalisation of the Sh3 billion Kisumu Port, Uhuru Business Park and Marketing Complex, Simu Inland Container Depot, Lake Basin Mall and the revival of the Kisumu-Nakuru railway.
