NMS Director Major Badi has made major changes in the body, just a year after it was established by President Uhuru Kenyatta. In what is believed to be triggered by a fallout in to management of the body, the Military boss has hit 13 high ranking officers. A number redeployed, demoted, and some given warning letters.

Multiple sources reveal Badi’s move is triggered by suspicion senior officials are sabotaging the body from within, to embarass President Uhuru Kenyatta. Others also say the 13 officials were either directly involved or mentioned in a number of misappropriation cases, which has seen NMS lose some of its money.

“The affected have been accused of having installed their cronies in different directorates, working with cartels from City Hall, especially those in the garbage industry, and sabotage,” the source said.

Among those affected in the shake up are Deputy Director General Kengethe Thuku. The departments of Treasury and Planning, Environment, Water, Sanitation and Energy, Health Services, Administrative Support Services and Procurement have also been hit.
